County Board Gives Go-Ahead to Build New Bus Terminal Downtown

The county had previously looked at other places, including the downtown Fifth Third Bank site. The consulting firm hired by the county recommended earlier this year that the county build at the existing terminal location. The county will be looking to purchase land on the northeast and southwest corners of the terminal.

Coalition for Community Development Announces Harvest Meal, Library Volunteer Program

To celebrate the first year of the summer program at Martin Luther King Elementary, the Coalition announced their plans for a Harvest Meal featuring vegetables grown by students on Tuesday, October 11. Group representative Spencer Norman also discussed the Coalition’s newest initiative: collecting and training volunteers to staff the Heights school district’s libraries as the district makes cuts.

With New Mode of Operations, Heights Booster Club Looks To Expand Membership

One of the largest reforms that the club has worked on in recent years is how they interact with the athletic department. The Booster Club works through Muskegon Heights Athletic Director Keith Guy for all uses of funds to determine what is needed and make sure the district and the club do not duplicate efforts.
