Bumstead urges Governor Whitmer to support proposed casino in Muskegon County

“I’m very disappointed with the Detroit City Council and the Wayne County Board of Commissioners’ decision to get involved and pass resolutions opposing a casino that is 200 miles across the state,” said Bumstead, R-Newaygo. “Muskegon County is not included in the defined competitive market area of any of three tribal casinos within a two-hour drive, so there is no logical reason why Detroit and Wayne County would be opposed to a casino in our community.”

Further community forums would be held in the spring, with the college planning to use that feedback to decide whether or not to place the measure on the November ballot.

The installation process will take less than five minutes per meter and will require a brief power interruption. Letters will be received by customers approximately one month ahead of time. If a customer is home at the time of installation, the meter changer will knock and notify the resident of the power interruption.
