Muskegon police have a juvenile assailant in custody after a stabbing incident

Muskegon police have a juvenile assailant in custody after a stabbing incident in the 900 block of Emerson Avenue this afternoon.

Officers had originally responded to a report of a hit and run traffic accident in the 1200 block of Pine Street where a gray Chevrolet Caprice had side-swiped another vehicle on the roadway. The striking vehicle fled the scene. Shortly afterward, officers were called to the house on Emerson Avenue where the suspected juvenile driver of the fleeing vehicle had allegedly stabbed a 17 year old in the chest.

The victim is being treated at a local hospital of what appears to be a non-lethal wound. The assailant is in the custody of the Muskegon County Juvenile authorities.
