Getty Street Reconstruction From Sherman to Broadway Coming In 2013
Mayor Darrell Paige announced at Monday’s city council meeting that the city received a grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) that day for $371,200 to rebuild that section of one of the busiest – and bumpiest - streets in the county.
More Curbside Parking Coming to Downtown on Terrace Street
Mohammed Al-Shatel, Director of Public Works noted that parking spots would be placed on the outside curbs of the road from Apple Avenue until Clay Avenue. This will reduce the traffic lanes in each direction from three to two.

This Summer’s Getty Street Rebuild To Run From Evanston to Keating; One Section Going To Local Contractor
The reconstruction of one section of Getty Street road in the City of Muskegon (Evanston to Getty) will be mostly funded by state dollars. The other section (Keating to Laketon) has been awarded to Jackson-Merkey Contractors of Muskegon. These rebuilds come after last summer's work at the north end of the road as well as near Sherman Boulevard.
