Slashing at the Old Clover Bar

At 2332 hrs, August 15th, 2013, officers of the Muskegon Police Department were dispatched to Old Clover Bar, 817 E Forest Ave, on a report of an assault. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect who fled the scene. Officers arrived on scene to find that two bar patrons, a female, 54 year old, Norton Shores resident, and a male, 58 year old, Muskegon resident had both been slashed in the throat/neck area with a cutting instrument.

The victims were initially treated at the scene by responding Officers and Medical First Responders. Each victim, suffering from severe lacerations, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment and surgery.

Both of the victims and other witnesses managed to describe the offender as a white male in his 20’s. The attack was described as being unprovoked. The suspect, a 23 year old Parolee from Fruitport Township, was quickly apprehended by Muskegon Police Officers only blocks from the scene.

An on-going investigation is being conducted by Detectives of the Muskegon Police Department and detailed information will be released when it becomes available.
