Joe Clifford Memorial Park Meet Up, Eat Up, and Clean Up this Monday!
Joe Clifford Memorial Park Meet Up, Eat Up, and Clean Up this Monday!
Join us at the Joe Clifford Memorial Park on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 9 a.m. to noon as we host a neighborhood park clean-up day!
Youth groups, along with neighbors, and C.O.G.I.C. Center volunteers will work from 9 am until noon at the Joe Clifford Memorial Park. All too often, good things are overshadowed by the violence of our day. Joe Clifford risked his life and ultimately gave his life trying to save others. Years ago, the City of Muskegon along with the C.O.G.I.C Center on Valley Street received a grant to build a park in East Muskegon dedicated to our hero, Joe Clifford. This Monday, we will honor the memory of a Muskegon Hero by organizing a clean-up of the park named after him!
The City of Muskegon will be on hand to help re-establish the neighborhood association of East Muskegon and empower the residents with the resources and support needed to establish a successful organization that can make a difference and be a voice within the community. The meeting will be hosted at the Center at 6 p.m. the same evening of July 14th.
As one of our many Meet Up and Eat Up sites, this neighborhood park is utilized every day to serve FREE breakfast and lunch to children up to 18 years of age. If it rains, the C.O.G.I.C. Center will still be on-hand and opens its doors to continue feeding the kids! Let’s celebrate all that is good in our community!
