Fun Things To Do This Summer
Summer is finally here, and with summer comes boredom. Soon Kids will be complaining, things like “I’m bored” or “There’s nothing to do”. So parents, what do you do to deal with bored children? You take them out to have some fun of course! There are plenty of fun things to do right here in Muskegon.
One of the many things available for kids to do this summer is going to Michigan’s Adventures. Michigan’s Adventure has many rides and attractions, alongside a killer waterpark. The park is open from 10am to 9pm, and the water park is open from 11am-7pm. It costs $10 for parking, and $29 for general admission. Another thing to do this summer is, going to Craig’s Cruisers. Craig’s Cruisers is Open Daily 10am-11pm, Sundays 11am-11pm. They have many things to do there including activities such as, Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Batting Cages, and Arcade Games. They have many specials including 2 for 1 Tuesday, and Wristband Wednesday. 2 for 1 Tuesday is Every Tuesday From 4-9pm, buy one activity get one free! Wristband Wednesday has 2 times to choose from 10am-3pm OR 4-9pm every Wednesday. It includes, Unlimited Go-Karts, Mini-golf and Bumper Boats! The cost is $17 per wristband. Local libraries including Hackley Library and Muskegon Heights library provide free or limited cost activities for children on a weekly basis. Maranda Park Party: Thursday, July 11 at Smith-Ryerson Park in Muskegon offering food and fun including games, prizes, rides, entertainment and more. Muskegon County’s park programs are offering free supervised breakfast, lunch, and activities at Sheldon Park, Smith-Ryerson, Reese Playfield, Nelson and Seyferth Park daily from 9am to 3pm Monday-Thursday and 9am to 12pm on Fridays.
Starting June 18th, Muskegon High School is hosting an open gym program. Open to people ages 8-25, you are allowed to participate in activities like arts and crafts, basketball, swimming, movies and much more. Offered all for one price, free, it’s daily from 6pm to 10pm. It’s cool and fun; you can basically do any activity you please. So, tell all your friends and meet up at the high school for an evening of fun.
Our local bowling alleys are having a promotion. Two free games of bowling per day are available to kids this summer. Both Northway Lanes and Sherman Bowling Center are participating. Another fun family activity is Movies on the Beach. Movies on the Beach is scheduled to take place at dusk at Pere Marquette Beach on June 28th, July 26th, and August 23rd. The movies are yet to be announced but it’s sure to be a fun and exciting family outing. So, pack your blankets, snacks and load your cars with loved ones and enjoy a fun family night out (free of charge, but donations are appreciated).
So instead of sitting around and being bored, get up and go do something fun. Invite your friends or just go with your family. Summer in Muskegon can be a lot more fun than you think it could be, you just have to get up and make it happen!
