At 17:39 hrs, July 9th, 2013, Officers of the Muskegon Police were
dispatched to the 300 block of Monroe Ave, on a double shooting.
Alexis "Alex" Brown, age 27, died as a result of his wounds, and an
innocent bystander, Carmesha Rogers, age 27, was shot in the head.
Rogers is still reportedly in critical condition at a local hospital.
6 subjects were arrested and charged with various weapons offenses
in connection with the shooting. This incident is still
being actively investigated by Muskegon Police
Department Detectives.
Funeral Services for Mr Brown will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013,
and visitation will be Tuesday, July 16th, 2013.
Alex Brown's family will be holding a candlelight vigil in memory of Alex and
in support of Carmesha Rogers this evening, July 16th,
at dusk in the 300 blk of Monroe Ave.
