The Muskegon Summer Celebration Board of Trustees has decided not to bring the festival back in 2012. Citing the past few years as being tough financially, the Board felt it could not risk further financial set backs.
The City Commission cited unpaid bills and overextended staff as reasons to deny requests for Labor Day weekend events in 2011. Without license approval, the newly-reborn Shoreline Spectacular may not fare well financially again this year.
