Police seeking help in solving recent homicide

On 05/24/2021 at approximately 10:47 pm, Muskegon Heights Police Officers
were dispatched to the 2600 block of Riordan Street on the report of a subject
suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers arrived on scene an observed a black male in the driver’s seat of a dark
colored Dodge that was parked on the terrace in front of a residence in the 2600
block of Riordan St.
The victim inside of the vehicle suffered a single gunshot wound and was
identified as Rico Rashawn Hayes, a 32-year-old black male that resided in the City
of Muskegon. Hayes was transported by ambulance to Mercy ER and was
pronounced deceased by the staff at the hospital.
