Recap: Jackson Hill Spoken Words 2012! Open Mic

The crowd was big and so was the talent. We often hear that Muskegon is a city filled with talent and Friday night’s event proved just that. Performers of all ages and background shared their thoughts, experiences and stories. It was an evening filled with poetry, spoken words, lyrical expression and even song. The crowd was engaged, holding on to every word as each act carried out a different message. Topics of expression ranged from
finding love and overcoming odds to empowerment and everyday struggles.

The 2012 Jackson Hill Spoken Words event served as an outlet for participates to express themselves and release their views. It was an opportunity to be creative and share various forms of expression. We would like to thank all participates and observers who attended out first Spoken Words event.
