Hit and Run on Apple & Stevens.
Shortly after 11pm on Saturday, January, 31st, 2015, Officers of the Muskegon Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Apple Ave and Stevens St, on a report of a hit and run crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers arrived on scene to find a 28 year old Muskegon man lying in the roadway with serious, life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene. The pedestrian, who was knocked to the ground by the fleeing vehicle, was then struck by a second vehicle whose driver stopped and reported the incident. The pedestrian was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local Hospital for treatment. The pedestrian is currently in critical condition undergoing treatment.
An on-going investigation is being conducted by Crash Investigators of the Muskegon Police Department. Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in locating an older model vehicle, possibly a 1990’s model Chevrolet Truck or Sport Utility vehicle, and its driver who may have pertinent information regarding the hit and run crash. It is not yet determined if there are other contributing factors leading to the cause of the crash and further information will be released when it becomes available.
