Free Gun Locks At 103.7 the Beat
To help promote gun safety and suicide prevention, Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) of Muskegon County has received gun locks from a national organization to give to community members free of charge. WUVS 103.7 the Beat and CMHS are collaborating to help distribute them. A limited supply of the cable-style gun locks will be handed out to members of the community who request them at the radio station.
The free gun locks come with a pamphlet of information on safe gun measures. It also includes basic safe storage tips, such as keeping the gun and ammunition separate when at home and making sure fire arms are secure in the home and out of reach of children. The gun locks came from the national organization Project ChildSafe, a nationwide program that promotes safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearm owners through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm Safety Kits.
The gun locks are available at the 103.7 the Beat Mayes & Wright Media Center, located at 1877 Peck Street in Muskegon, MI, between 10am and 5pm. For more information call 231-727-5007.
