Drowning in Muskegon
The Muskegon Police Department is investigating what appears to be a drowning death that occurred in the City of Muskegon.
At 6:27pm tonight, police responded to a water emergency at Kruse Park, 3090 W. Sherman Bl., where a witness reported seeing a male subject approximately 75 to 100 yards off shore, who was waving his arms and then disappeared from sight.
The victim was found unresponsive by rescue personnel, who brought him to shore and began performing CPR.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.
We are withholding the name of the deceased at this point pending the proper notification of family. An autopsy is expected this weekend. The investigation is continuing.
