Police: Body discovered at Pere Marquette beach identified as Muskegon Heights man
MUSKEGON, MI – Police have identified the man found deceased at Muskegon’s Pere Marquette Park Monday as 58-year-old Joseph Hall. The body of the Muskegon Heights man was discovered around 7 a.m. Monday by a city employee who was doing beach maintenance work at the time, police said. Authorities have ruled the cause of death to be an “accidental drowning.” Hall’s autopsy was conducted Tuesday by the medical examiner’s office, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear how long Hall’s body had been there. Investigators have no information that leads them to believe there was foul play involved in Hall’s death, police said. His body was found in about 2 feet of water in Lake Michigan, about 50 yards south of the South Break Wall, police said.
