Business Equity Initiative Fund grantees announced
Muskegon, MI — The Business Equity Initiative Fund, at the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, has awarded $40,000 in grants to women business owners. The fund has been established to support Muskegon women business owners, with the goal to position these women for success and support local economic development that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. In presenting the awards, the founders of the fund noted that the number of applicants – close to 30 – reflects the need for attention to this sector of business entrepreneurs.
This year’s winners are:

- Jackqueline Anderson, Kiddie Kanvas
- Alexis Fogle, Lexi Fogle Photography
- Jillian Rucker, menTal Teaz
- Adrienne Wheat-Brown, Compass Drug Screening of West Michigan
- Krystal George, The Tish
- Satina Grissom McGee, Tina Tots Learning Center
- Lutevies Jenkins, TVS Jenkins
These nine entrepreneurs received grants up to $5,000 to use for their businesses. The winners also receive extensive business coaching on financials, projections, marketing and more through the Stingray Advisory Group. The grants are paid in installments as goals are met.
The Business Equity Initiative Fund is a community project launched by a group of Muskegon County donors concerned about equity and wishing to support an economy that works for all. Northern Initiatives is working in partnership with the Community Foundation for Muskegon County in administering the grants.
