Muskegon Heights Council Overturns Sunday Liquor Ban

After the State of Michigan started to allow morning alcohol sales in December, Muskegon Heights was the only municipality to continue the ban. The City Council voted 4-2 Monday night to start allowing morning sales due to a local business petition.

Muskegon Heights City Council Chooses To Continue Sunday Morning Alcohol Ban, Despite New State Law

A recent law passed on the state level allows alcohol sales essentially all day on Sunday, but the State allowed local governments to opt out of the new law and continue to ban sales at certain hours. Muskegon Heights’ city council voted Monday to keep their current Sunday morning ban intact.
