Students Could Win Free Tech Gear, Free Tuition at College Open House

Adults of any age, high school students and their families could win a new Macbook Air, Beats,
or two-years of college tuition at Muskegon Community College’s EXPO Open House. The
event will take place Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Health &
Wellness Center, located at 221 S. Quarterline Road in Muskegon.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with MCC faculty and staff from a
variety of academic departments and student service areas including admissions, financial aid,
business, information technology, arts, humanities, communications, engineering, math, science,
manufacturing, industrial technology, health and human services. The event is designed to give
prospective students the chance to explore programs of interest, ask specific questions about
enrollment and support services, and learn firsthand how MCC can help them reach their
educational and career goals.

“We are always thrilled to answer questions and give tours of our beautiful campus,” said
Muskegon Community College Director of Admissions, Sarah Luker. “What makes this event
special, however, is that it brings everything our college offers together in a one-stop-shop
format. You’ll get all the information you need to make good decisions about your future and to
begin your journey at MCC.”

Complimentary food and refreshments will be provided, while attendees will have the chance to
win several prizes—including a full two-year MCC scholarship valued at $11,360. Attendees
must be at least a current high school freshman to enter the drawing and must be present to win.
“It’s not very often I get to hand someone a two-year scholarship and see the joy and relief in
their eyes. The excitement and gratitude we see remind us of the real impact education has on
people’s lives,” said MCC President Dr. John Selmon.

As Muskegon Community College approaches its 100th anniversary celebration on June 20,
2026, the college continues to build on its long tradition of excellence in education and
community engagement. Since its founding in 1926, MCC has served as a cornerstone of the
Lakeshore—preparing students for success, strengthening the regional workforce, and
contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of West Michigan.
