Shootout leaves one dead in Muskegon

​​Update:Derrick Dawson, 27 years old of Muskegon, identified as the homicide victim from this mornings shooting.
The Muskegon Police Department is investigating a double shooting that resulted in the death of a 27 year old man, who was a Muskegon resident. The victim was shot in the 600 block of Allen Avenue around 5:30am today. He died at the scene a short time later.
​A second male subject, 25 years of age, also a Muskegon resident, was taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso. He is being treated and is in critical condition at this time.

The investigation is continuing and more information will be released as we are able to. The victim’s names are being withheld pending notification of the families.
