Robbery suspects arrested

Muskegon police have arrested two Muskegon men in connection with a robbery that occurred in the 1100 block of Sanford Street last evening.

At 9:23pm last evening, officers responded to a report of a robbery where two victims had allegedly been accosted by two other subjects on the street. One assailant brandished a handgun and demanded one of the victim’s cell phone. The assailants eventually took the cell phone and struck one of the victims on the head with the handgun. The subjects then fled.

Today, with the cooperation of the victims, officers were able to identify the assailants. The assailants were arrested after a short foot chase this afternoon and lodged in the Muskegon County Jail on the charge of Armed Robbery and Resisting Police.

The investigation is continuing.
