Incident Type: Missing Endangered Person

On 05/15/2021 at approximately 6:30pm the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a missing persons report.  Family reported that Randal Veldheer, a 57 year old man from Byron Center, had not been heard from or seen since approximately 3:00pm on Friday, 05/14/2021.  Family went to check on him at home and found that he was not there, but his coat, garage door remote, and cane were missing.  Randal does not have a cell phone and does not have access to a vehicle. He is believed to be wearing a dark flannel jacket, dark pants, and walking with a cane.  A neighbor believes he possibly saw him around Clyde Park Ave SW and 76th St. SW around 12:30pm today

Randal suffers from a serious heart condition, along with other medical issues requiring attention, and is limited in his abilities to care for himself for an extended period of time.  If he is seen or located contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office at (616)632-6100.
