The timing of the festival makes it the last 5K before the annual Seaway Run, which the festival’s organizers hope will spur interest. Mayor pro tem Kimberly Sims and city staff indicated that the festival would be contacting organizers of other run and walk vents in the area to invite those events’ usual participants to run in the Heights 5K.

The demolition is scheduled for Sunday, January 29 between 9 and 10 a.m., a time selected because traffic on nearby roads, including the major Lakeshore Drive thoroughfare will be minimal. A “soft” road closure would take place at 30 minutes before the scheduled demolition. A “hard” road closure will happen 15 minutes before.
