Black Women Political Caucus Of Muskegon County Endorse Candidates
The Executive Committee of the Black Women’s Political Caucus Of Muskegon County Spent The past Couple of Weeks Interviewing various Political Candidates both seeking election to or re-election at the Federal, State, and local levels to endorse in this 2012 election year. Letters Were sent to all candidates regardless of party affiliation. Those who responded were interviewed at the Muskegon Area District Library- Muskegon Heights Branch. The following persons were interviewed:
Randy Kostrzewa- Circuit Court Judge
Annette Smedly- Circuit Court Judge
Michael “Mike” Walsh- Circuit Court Judge
Nancy A. Waters- Muskegon County Clerk (Re-elect)
Manda Mittier- Muskegon County Clerk
D.J. Hilson- Muskegon County Prosecutor
Marc Curtis- County Prosecutor
Stephen Corwin- County Prosecutor
Dean Roesler- County Sheriff (Re-elect)
John J. Jurkas- County Sheriff
Joel J. Dobis- County Sheriff
Tony Moulatsiotis- County Treasurer (Re-elect)
U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow- United States Senator-Michigan-(Re-elect)
Holly Hughes- State House of Representatives- 91st District- (Re-elect)
Collene Lamonte- State House of Representatives
Marcia Hovey-Wright- State House of Representatives- 92nd District- (Re-elect)
Rillastine Wilkins- County Commissioner- District 1- (Re-elect)
Anthony Longmire- County Commissioner- District 6- (Re-elect)
Ann Oakes- Muskegon Charter Township Clerk- (Re-elect)
After the Executive Committee evaluation of the candidates, they came to a conculsion. The following candidates have been given the endorsement of the B.W.P.C. for the following position:

Marcia Hovey-Wright- State House of Representatives- 92nd District-(Re-elect)
Collene Lamonte- State House of Representatives- 91st District

Tony Moulatsiotis- Muskegon County Treasurer- (Re-elect)
D.J. Hilson- Muskegon County Prosecutor
John J. Jurkas- Muskegon County Sheriff
Rillastine Wilkins- County Commissioner- District 1- (Re-elect)
Anthony Longmire- County Commissioner- District 6- (Re-elect)
Ann Oakes- Muskegon Charter Township Clerk- (Re-elect)
It was the decision of the B.W.P.C that those individuals who did not interview or did not respond to the Caucus request to be interviewed would not be considered for endorsement.
The Caucus considers informing and educating the public relative to the political process and activism, an important aspect of its mission.
On Saturday July 21st at 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Johnny O. Harris Park on Broadway St at Jerman St, in the City of Muskegon Heights, there will be a meet and greet with the endorsed candidates (adults only).
