Anthony McDonald Remembered
By: Emily Guiles
The Muskegon Heights Council lost a valuable member on October 26th. Councilman Anthony McDonald was almost half way through his four year term that would have ended in 2017.
McDonald was West Michigan Chapter President of Reaching Out Against Road Rage, and the director of Toombs Funeral Home where a wake was held for him on Sunday November 1st.
McDonald has overcome many obstacles in his life and is proof that your past doesn’t determine your future.
In the mid 1980’s McDonald was convicted of larceny and writing bad checks. Roughly 30 years after committing his crimes McDonald ran for Council and was elected in 2013.
McDonald’s wife Doris McDonald said, “He loved people- he was a people person.”
Anthony McDonald will surely be missed by everyone who knew him.
