Hackley Community Care Launches New Patient Transportation Program in Partnership with Pioneer Resources
Muskegon, Michigan – Hackley Community Care (HCC) is proud to announce the launch of a new Patient Transportation Program, created in partnership with Pioneer Resources, to help ensure that all HCC patients have reliable access to medical, mental health, dental, specialty, and referral appointments.
Beginning February 9, transportation will be available to every HCC patient with a scheduled appointment, whether at an HCC location or a specialty provider. The program has no geographic limits, and all transportation will be provided in fully accessible vans supporting patients with varying mobility needs.
The collaboration between HCC and Pioneer Resources grew from a shared understanding that transportation is one of the most significant barriers preventing patients from accessing timely medical, dental, and mental health care.
“Removing transportation barriers is essential to improving health outcomes,” said Michael Weessies, Chief Executive Officer of Hackley Community Care. “This partnership ensures our patients can more easily reach the care they need—care that truly has the power to change lives.”
With deep expertise in accessible, community‑based transportation and a proven commitment to meeting local needs, Pioneer Resources is a natural partner in this effort.
“We are honored to partner with Hackley Community Care on this important initiative,” said Jill Bonthuis, CEO of Pioneer Resources. “Our mission has always been to create access and opportunity. By working together, we can help ensure that transportation is never an obstacle to receiving essential health care.”
HCC staff will coordinate transportation directly on behalf of patients. Pioneer Resources will then contact the patient to confirm pickup details, appointment time, and location. Patients will also receive a driver’s business card so they can provide updates such as running late or finishing early.
As both organizations strengthen their efforts to reduce obstacles to care, this partnership represents a shared commitment to improving community health and expanding access to essential services.
