The contests that received the greatest candidate attendance and debate were 14th circuit court judge, county clerk and the county commission seat for district 6. Sheriff and prosecutor contests each had a pair of candidates in attendance.
American Legion, Bike Time Promoter & Motorcycle Advocacy Group Keep Muskegon County Sheriff Unit On Roads
With the county's recent budget crunch, solicitations for funding the patrol unit were publicly extended to keep it running. Three groups stepped forward: The Holton chapter of the American Legion, American Bikers Aiming Toward Education (ABATE), and the Indiana-based company Family Events, who operates Muskegon Bike Time and the Hot Rod Power Tour.
County Expands Daily Drop-off Program for Unused and Expired Medication
Montague, Muskegon, Norton Shores and Roosevelt Park Police Departments plus the County Sheriff's office are involved. Fruitport, Muskegon Heights, Muskegon Township, North Muskegon and Whitehall are expected to join the program in the coming months.

Muskegon’s County Commission gave unanimous approval to pay $592.81 into the Bullet Proof Vest Partnership program of the United States Department of Justice. Starting this past Monday, all written communication to or from inmates housed at the jail must be written on regular-sized postcards.
