Michelle Obama shuts down idea of her running for president and suggests America isn’t ready for a female POTUS: ‘Don’t waste my time’

Don’t expect Michelle Obama to answer the Democrats’ call to run for President. Not in 2028, nor at any time after that. During an hour-long fireside chat with actress Tracee Ellis Ross in promotion of her upcoming book, “The Look,” the Forever FLOTUS took a question from Ross around the 32-minute mark about whether America would be ready to have a female president, given the advancement of women in escaping stereotypes about femininity. “As you saw in this past election, […]

What shutdown? Trump isn’t canceling travel, golf or his ballroom even with the government shuttered

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump isn’t curtailing travel. He’s not avoiding golf or making do with a skeleton staff in the West Wing. Even hamburgers served at the White House aren’t from McDonalds, this time. In shutdowns past — including during Trump’s first term — presidents normally scaled back their schedules. With staffers deemed “non-essential” sent home, the White House often sought to appear sympathetic to Americans affected by disruptions to health care, veterans benefits and other key services. The current one […]

Trump Jr. implies ‘cover-up’ of Biden’s cancer, suggests wife Dr. Jill Biden, who isn’t a medical doctor, is to blame

While the world reacted to shocking news of former President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis on Sunday, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, took to social media to suggest those in Biden’s circle knew about his condition while in office. After initially joining countless others in wishing Biden, 82, a speedy recovery following the news of the former president’s “aggressive” prostate cancer diagnosis, Trump Jr., a few hours later, quickly changed his tune. Trump Jr. re-shared a […]

Trump aide Stephen Miller says America is ‘blessed’ Kamala Harris isn’t president, rails against DEI

White House advisor Stephen Miller hit back at Kamala Harris after the former vice president slammed President Donald Trump‘s first 100 days in office during a recent speech in California. Miller, Trump’s deputy chief of staff for policy, reacted to Harris’ scathing remarks about the president on Thursday during a White House press briefing, telling reporters the only thing the American public should hear from the former presidential candidate is an “apology.” “I think it was a great reminder to […]

Jasmine Crockett and others explain why Biden’s pardon of son Hunter isn’t controversial

While Republicans and some Democrats are condemning President Joe Biden for his decision on Sunday to pardon his son Hunter Biden on federal charges related to gun possession and tax evasion, others like U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, are declaring, “Way to go, Joe.” Crockett, a freshman congresswoman who sits on the House Oversight Committee, praised Biden for using his executive powers to shield his son from prison and any future prosecution regarding a 10-year span when Hunter battled drug […]

Harris says she’s ready if Trump tries to prematurely declare victory, isn’t worried about sexism

Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday that her team is prepared to challenge Donald Trump if he tries to prematurely declare victory in the 2024 election — but she’s first focused on beating the Republican nominee. Harris spoke to NBC News just two weeks before Election Day, as part of a media blitz meant to deliver her closing argument before as many persuadable voters as possible. She said she was not concerned about the role sexism could play in the election, as […]

Hakeem Jeffries isn’t speaker yet, but the Democrat may be the most powerful person in Congress

WASHINGTON (AP) — Without wielding the gavel or holding a formal job laid out in the Constitution, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries might very well be the most powerful person in Congress right now. The minority leader of the House Democrats, it was Jeffries who provided the votes needed to keep the government running despite opposition from House Republicans to prevent a federal shutdown. Jeffries who made sure Democrats delivered the tally to send $95 billion foreign aid to Ukraine and other […]

Biden isn’t on the New Hampshire ballot after prioritizing Black voters

As New Hampshire residents prepare to vote in Tuesday’s primary election, some may wonder why President Joe Biden’s name will not be on the ballot. The absence of the Biden-Harris ticket is a result of a standoff between the Democratic National Committee and New Hampshire officials after the national party moved to designate South Carolina as the first primary state for the Democratic presidential contest.  New Hampshire previously held the first-in-the-nation primary for over a century, even solidifying its status […]
