The upcoming festival has actively billed itself as different from the now-defunct Muskegon Summer Celebration. Acts revealed so far include blues legends Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang, indie rock collective The Polyphonic Spree, and funk group Here Come the Mummies.
The Muskegon Summer Celebration Board of Trustees has decided not to bring the festival back in 2012. Citing the past few years as being tough financially, the Board felt it could not risk further financial set backs.
Summer Celebration's Executive Director says the festival generates $14 million for the Muskegon area every year, and spreading out 2010's costs will keep the festival afloat.
We had the privilege to host a meet-n-greet with Superstar Ludacris. Winners from our radio contest were selected to meet Ludacris and take a picture with him. Hollywood Producer Jon Covington is pictured above with Ludacris Ludacris was in town for the Muskegon Summer Celebration festival. He performed in front 11,000 screaming fans the day after the BET awards.
